VERIFICA Stops Human Trafficking

Like many nonprofits or aid agencies, we work in neighborhoods with high rates of human trafficking, where traffickers regularly recruit vulnerable children and young adults into slavery with promises of work and education. One challenge inherent in most anti-trafficking programs is that simply educating the vulnerable population about human trafficking does not keep them safe.

VERIFICA: A Revolutionary Innovation from PIER

VERIFICA is an anti-human trafficking program which saved a life from a trafficking attempt within months of its first rollout. VERIFICA can stop trafficking attempts in progress with a simple, safe, and fast proactive set of steps. Designed for implementation in the field, the program can be rolled out in a school or community center in less than 90 minutes.

• Based on our research to date, VERIFICA is the only program proven to have stopped a trafficking attempt in progress.
• VERIFICA is unique in that it not only raises awareness about human trafficking, but it equips and trains the community with practical steps to take to protect against common methods traffickers' use.
