Yes. We do not accept government funding for our projects or operations. While many of our programs and projects are secular in nature, we are a faith-based Christian nonprofit; everything we do is rooted in a desire to humbly and boldly serve God and bring glory to His name.

Is PIER Institute's mission advocacy or charity?
Our mission combines both. There are many brilliant people writing policy papers in think tanks around the world. There are also lots of brilliant people working for NGOs and small nonprofits that discover great ideas from their direct experience. Outside of conferences, it can be difficult for these two groups to connect. PIER Institute bridges this gap as a hybrid model of a charity and "free market" policy institute. As a social enterprise, we have the ability to quickly apply new models and ideas developed in the academic sphere through our teams working in the field. We also use the experience from our field work and research to inform our policy analysis and support our advocacy of religious freedom and free marekts.
